VB To XenForo, Question Regarding HTML

Our site is considering the possibility of moving from VB 3.8 to XenForo.

We are testing the XenForo product and the biggest issue, by far, are posts with HTML - specifically youtube, facebook, twitter and gif embeds.

All of those posts converted over as pure text, looks like gibberish more or less.

We are talking about a mega-forum, nearly 20 million posts, and we can't have potentially millions of those posts (including entire site sections) get destroyed more or less with the move.

I'm not concerned with parsing any future posts, I'm only concerned with posts that are being ported over.

Is there a way to make this happen, is there some kind of process (SQL calls) or a custom converter out there to parse the HTML in those posts?

Please help.

There is an add-on to convert post content from other software formats to XF format.

XF2 ships with its own importers. You should use them in the first place.

I know that @Steffen converted a big board and he did a lot of bug reporting for the current vB to XF2.x importer. So I think he knows the code in and out and you could ask him for helping you with adjusting the code for your needs.
