XF 1.1 Threads question

Would there be anyway to allow members to only start 1 thread on a specific forum?

Or maybe use user promotion to add them to a usergroup if they start a thread on specific forum?

Just wondering if I missed something or if this is gonna have to be a custom mod...

You can use the user promotion to add them to a usergroup after user has made x posts.

A promotion to a group that Revokes the Post new thread permission would accomplish this. Note that promotions run hourly, so it may take up to an hour to impose the restriction after their first thread, during which time they could still post new threads.

Oh wait... there is no promotion criteria to check for 1 thread in a specific forum. So an addon is required. You can post a request:
