XF 2.1 Threads disappear in new forum

I created a new forum/node. It is a sub node. Threads posted to it disappear after a short time (more than a few minutes but less than 6 hours). The thread count reverts to zero. It is set to prevent posts by anyone except moderators. I’m baffled.

There is nothing built in to XF which will automatically delete or move posts after a period of time.

Do you have any add-ons installed?

Are there any entries in the moderator log related to these threads?

Add ons are Ads Manager and s9e/media sites. No moderator actions. I’ve rebuilt caches.

Thread list date limit
This can be used on busy forums to improve performance by only listing recently updated threads by default.

Are you using New posts to view these threads, or directly navigating into the forum?

I can’t find the thread list date limit limit setting.

Disappeared from both New Posts and navigating direct to the forum.

Is there a time limit on moderating threads? I had it set to moderate all threads, something I’ve never used before. However only moderators were posting.

Can you post a new thread now with a link and some screenshots of where it is being displayed.

We can then check in a few hours to see what has happened to it.

Ok it’s a permissions issue. Not sure why yet but any user can delete any thread in this new forum

Remove the permission for the registered user group.
