XF 1.2 Tagging members doesn't send alerts

I have "Receive an alert when someone...
Tags you in a message" checked on.

All other alerts seem to function fine yet when I tag people they do not get sent an alert. Is there another setting I need to check for?

Verify you have permissions to tag and have a value larger than 0 for your user groups on max amount of tag gable members.
