Lack of interest [Suggestion] Attachment icon corresponds to type of file if not image

When you upload something that's not an image you receive a broken image icon (red x), I feel that this should correspond to the type of file uploaded (i.e. pdf, txt, zip, etc.)

I also think text and pdf documents and anything else browser-viewable should be viewed in the browser rather than downloaded automatically!

Totally agree with this. Currently it's just a broken image, causing the alternate text to be displayed, and it looks very ugly.

As far as viewing in browser, I tend to agree. Although a lot of that is based on browser settings, not server settings.

PDFs can display image thumbnails and I had a brainstorm about showing an actual thumbnail of text file uploads as well.
