Email bounce threshold values for turning soft bounces into hard bounces are limited to bounces generated in the last 30 days.
Please add a setting to the Soft bounce trigger threshold settings to make this 60 days or whatever the admin prefers.
XenForo bounce processing has been improved significantly in recent releases. This means that a large portion of bounces are now inbox_full bounces. These are very transient bounces. Giving member a very short window of 30 days to empty their mailbox is much too narrow. It would be more effective to be able to measure over a longer amount of time.
Especially considering that after email bounce management with soft bounce trigger thresholds was introduced, XenForo has added Activity Summary emails. This changes the calculation because now we send our members a very regular mailing, which will yield regular soft bounces from accounts that have their email inbox full. Some boards send this monthly or biweekly. So in the case of a monthly mailing we get a 2 soft bounces in 2 months. Or in the case of bi-weekly, we get 4 soft bounces in 2 months. That would be a good basis to turn these soft bounces into a hard bounce.
BTW: is the setting of 30 days hard coded or can we use a template modification to adjust it?
