How are similar threads ranked to display. What is similar? Other than the date... The first word in a title?

Can the widget work without elastic search. I only need the widget, without the other functionality of the addon. I know there are other addons, but I prefer the official one.

You need Enhanced search which requires elastic search.

Although I have the official addon I am currently using a third party addon by @AndyB as I am evaluating which one I prefer.

Sorry for grave digging but this thread shows up on Google...

My solution: Go to https://xenforo.com/customers/, edit license information and click save. I have the same url as before... So nothing really changed. And now suddenly "Your version of XenForo and official add-ons are fully up-to-date. No issues were identified with your license.".
