We're in the process of setting up a paywall system - where paid members will have special privileges, access to special content, etc - while still leaving some public content outside of the paywall for guests and unpaid members.

I'd like to see examples of other forum sites where people have done this. Curious to see how you formatted your site, and what payment options are offered.

It's very simple.

In the node permissions do not allow registered usergroup to view nodes, threads or thread content whichever you want

In the user upgrade settings choose a privileged secondary user group.

Set up a user upgrade which adds a secondary user group

On my forum I allow viewing of the node and threads, but not thread content. This way the node and thread titles are a teaser.
