share information just with team members?

Hi

we use Xenforo as community platform with our customers, sometimes member needs to share sensetive data or log files. Actually we handle this with private messages.

Is there are function oder addon out there which allows users to share data which only can be read by Administrators or Team Members?

In one example, we allow people to submit reports as a thread in a special forum. Permissions are set for admins/mods to see all content and then regular members can see only report threads they created. (That includes replies made to their report by mods/admins) The settings would be in the basic user group permissions for specific nodes where they can see their own content but no one else’s…

yea good idea but thats not what i am looking for

sometimes the discussion already started and after maybe the10th post, we take a look into it and recognize, that we need sensitive data... i want that users can share these data there (in this already started thread) but only team members have access to it

i could remove the option that users can access attachments... but this is not option for me, because sometime users share usefull screenshots how to use our software which helps other users

Ah, I see. I understand what you're looking for but I'm not aware of any function or addon that would do this. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, I just am not aware. For sensitive content, we actually employ a separate workflow system outside of xenForo.

I use the first one too. The "club" bbcode will do everything OP wants to do.

we have that type of forum also.

I'd hesitate to rely on bbcode, more so because if the user messes it up, their private data is shown to the world, until someone fixes it.

Just set group permissions where X team members can access content shared by Y. Y can only be viewed by thread starter and assigned team of X.

Why? Usergroup permissions also allow and disallow attachment access.

because it opens a popup where the user can leave his text or message to us... that´s a fine solution

But if there's ever a template issue or that addon becomes unsupported you're in trouble whereas using group permissions are hardcoded as opposed to using a third party.

yes, thanks u re right... i ve reverted my changes and disabled the addon
