Setting restrictions for users to threads that are brand new to site

We are trying to reduce scams by limiting users to our for sale threads by requiring a post count and a users length of membership. Is this possible?

If you have an Advertising forum you can set it to No for one group, Yes for another, and promote after 5 posts, 30 days, etc.

This is my scenario. We have people joining just to sell of some stuff and people have been getting ripped off. I want to limit all new accounts to not be able to see or associate with the for sale forums for x amount of days/posts. I have found the user group promotions but i cant find where it affects specific forums. Thanks for your help.

Its not an advertising forum. Strictly for reef hobbyist.

Set the permissions in the actual group. Use promotion to promote.

Registered (set to No)
Promoted (set to Yes)

Then set your promotion.
