XF 2.3 Setting a forum to view only with a single editor assigned

Hello there,

Quick and probably simple question, but I can't seem to figure it out. I have set my forums up like this:



For the Wiki one, I want to do this: Users can only view the Wiki forum and comment on posted articles. I want to assign one person to be the "editor" so that only that account can post new content or edit existing content. How do I pull that off correctly?

i believe recommended way is to create a new usergroup and add that person to that usergroup. and then disable post/edit permissions for everyone except that group.

you can technically set permissions on individual accounts as well but usergroups are better for this assuming you do not plan to have 10+ forums with different editors?

It would be easier to remove the post permissions for the Registered user group for that node, and allow it for the individual member.

It's not worth creating a user group for 1 member.

No, just one editor. Maybe 1 or 2 more in the future but that's it.

Thank you! Just one question. I got it all sorted, but I don't see the option to allow an individual member. The groups thing is sorted and I suppose if I assign that member to let's say editors I can do it like that. However, since you specifically said individual I'm curious about that option.

You have to edit the user in acp. Permissions is part of their profile edit.

Yes, I've found that and there's a ton of options, but I don't see one that let's me specify the user's permission for a specific forum.

Have a look at ACP>forum>node permissions, then select a node and you can set an individual users permissions for that node
