RM 2.0 Resource manager thread permissions

I have an odd question. I've setup the resource manager to automatically create a thread in forum named "resources" for every resource created. Now I realize this is for discussion of the resource. So I still need to allow members to post in the individual resource threads. However, I would like to have it set to where no one can actually create a thread in that section. Now I see where I can have a moderator approve threads for that section but thats not really ideal. Can this be setup in node permissions and will it still allow a thread to be created via resource manager? I'm assuming yes?

Set the post new thread permission in that node to no for the registered user group.
