Lack of interest Remove links from quotes

There's a new batch of spam bots on forums, that act in a way designed to avoid moderation.
What they do is post spam links into quotes ( they reply to a post with a quote ), put some random answer below the quote, but edit & fill the quote area with backlinks.

It's very tricky to see unless you hover on words.

It would be useful to have either an addon, or a core feature, to "remove links from quotes" (especially linked text).
People rarely click links in quotes, and anyway if they want to they can go the the original post.

Actually clicking anywhere on the quoted text should simply send you back on that original text. I would also propose options to remove youtube and images. (embeds)

Add-on - Minimum number of posts to post links

Hi, I am looking for an add-on which allows me to set a minimum number of posts that are required for users to put links into their posts or signatures. I know that we have a resource like this, but unfortunately the member never answers...

This solution should work on stopping the spam bots, I tested a link in a quote and it gets picked up.

Removing links from quotes would not be the best solution to mitigate this. You are punishing all, because spammers are getting in. The above solution would help you out, and you can fight them from getting in in the first place with other solutions (try asking for some tips in Troubleshooting). Good luck!

I agree, the proper way would be to stop the spambots from registering.
