Page Jump Buttons Stop Working

Page jump buttons stop working when you switch style variation. I have mine set to: When scrolling up or down.

Scroll to the bottom of the page, change the style variation, then start scrolling back up the page. The buttons no longer show. I can reproduce it on xenforo.com also.

The only way to get them working again is to refresh the page.

I'm not 100% sure how it's triggered yet but I don't think this is the only way this causes the page jump buttons to stop working.

I've received reports that it happens sometimes even with style variation disabled for the theme. Possibly around the time when they're submitting a post until they refresh the page.

Writing up this post right now while taking a while before publishing it, I encounter the same issue. The buttons aren't working on this tab, but loading the same page with my draft and scrolling up/down triggers the buttons. It's just this current tab isn't loading the scroll buttons.

No console errors. It happened again when I just quoted my own message.

Regardless of how much I scroll up or down, the buttons aren't appearing. But re-opening the page in a new tab works.

In our theme the problem was, that we had multiple js-scrollbuttons, but the JS only deals with the first (document.querySelector).
I put all my scrollbuttons into one container and now they are appearing again...

I have style variations disabled on my forum, and this happens as well. My forum is running XF 2.3

The scrolling up and down page jump button disappears (happens about 98% of the time) when I use the Rich text editor and submit a post. Sometime it happens even when I don't submit a post. Just opening the text editor and closing it causes the button to disappear.

To have the button appear again, I have to refresh the page or close the tab and re-open it.

It's very inconvenient and annoying to deal with.
