Odd behavior using Custom BB Code

A user reported the other day an issue when using a Custom BB code that I’ve replicated on a test site. When you click on the icon the code tends to drop down a line regardless where it’s placed. I will say in the video it does appear like it should have due to where the screen “wraps,” but it’s the same behavior on desktops and such.

Tried this again after some tinkering on Xenforo’s demo site but it’s still occurring. I tried using very simple HTML and everything I do pushes the content to the next line. Tried the following if anybody wants to see what’s up,
