Seems like this just breaks core functionality like being able to highlight and quote a selection of text, frustrating normal users while doing nothing to truly protect your content from someone that really wants to make a copy.
 
Also you can edit css using any browser inspect element tool and just undo the css changes.
 
Yes, indeed, you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, but for the average user, this solution definitively blocks NoScript, and that's the objective, despite a few minor drawbacks.
Do you really believe that plagiarists possess the intellectual capability to apply such a feat of modifying their browser's CSS?
It's a solution that works, in contrast to all the scripts available on the market which are negated by NoScript, and there are people looking for this kind of protection.

I think a dedicated plagiarist will be able to learn how to modify CSS (if they don't already) within 30 seconds from a Google search!
 
This is what I like about this forum:
Everyone concerned with protecting their copyright and who are looking for simple and effective solutions are all scorned by people who, because they know about computers, believe they are superior and always come to defecate on topics dealing with intellectual property protection.
It seems that any topic related to anti-plagiarism is systematically refused on this forum, belittling those who discuss it.

I am a writer. The site where I post my writing blocks copying and still occasionally gets scraped. Blocking copy only stops casual copying, not the more serious levels of IP theft like scraping the whole site. And I can bypass the copy block by printing to a pdf. Not sure if your solution blocks the browser's print function. So I think your idea has its uses, but it is hardly bulletproof protection for people's IP.

Not intending to be belittling at all, it's simply a fact that this is a losing battle.

If content can be published to be consumed, it can be copied.

Most systems like this are trivial for anyone with enough skills to perform a simple google search to get past, and they only frustrate and inhibit the experience for legitimate users. It's a tale as old as time with respect to piracy.

If you don't want it visible, best bet is to put it behind a paywall. At least then whoever if going to copy it will have to pay you for it first.
