XF 1.4 Inflated Thread Views

I'm getting strange thread views that are extremely inflated. What I mean is they have thousands of views when it can only be possible that a few dozen have read the thread.

I was thinking it could be the redis caching addon I'm using, or [bD] cache but I'm not sure.
I'm also using CloudFlare.

Where would a good place to start be?

When a thread is crawled or auto visited it still counts. Google sometimes loves to just really look at one thread.

Details about the 'viewer' are not recorded in XenForo. It could be anyone including spiders.

If you are certain the views are not legitimate then an addon could be to blame. I know I have seen Tapatalk cause multiplication of various actions.
