I can't find the place to enter in the API key. Directions are very vague and 3rd world.

Does anyone have a clue? It shouln't take over an hour to install a theme!

I'm very sure that I installed everything correctly, there is no option like the one seen here:

Did you download the addon file "ThemeHouse-UIX-2.3.0_Patch_Level_1"? or just the theme files? "UI.X-2.3.7.0.0.zip"

From the Themehouse customer area:

If you click the first "Download" button at the top, that will give you the addon to install in order to add your API key.
The 2nd "Download" box below is for the theme files only. So, if you used that 2nd download option, it would not install the addon that would enable the API feature for Themehouse.

Just read the instructions carefully, it's written on the page to explain which each part does.
Understandably, it can be confusing for the first time, but that's why you can ask for help.
We can vouch that the product works as described, with proper understanding and configuration.
The one conflict you may run into is your server directory write/read permissions, the addon should inform you of any conflict after install.

You'll find the Themehouse menu for styles here: ACP > Appearance > Styles & Templates (after addon install, IIRC)

It's worth noting that UI.X itself is deeply complicated and offers a very deep dive in customization that will require time to study and understand. You can get a basic version out of the box very easily, but tuning will take time, just like any good piece of art work. :)

thanks I still dont understand why they have nodes DL on same page as the TH download with no separation!!! So ****ing lame!!!!

and why need an add-on for a theme???
I really think you need to read the documentation. 🙇‍♂️
The addon is to help manage your themes with functions and updates.
It allows one-click updates once a new version of the theme comes out.

It is separated, it has the explanations at the top of the page. Best practice is read things carefully for before clicking any download button.

are you supposed to install these???
That depends on how your styles are setup.
The standard is practice is to create a child of a master style and modify that. (it's better to not modify the master so if your child style becomes damage, you can create another from the master...)

I believe in your example, you would want to install those to your child styles.
