XF 2.3 How to link to notes in Articles?!

I have written an article with notes. How do I link the (superscript) numbers in the text to the notes down under?

Do you mean references? (citations)
It is a type of reference, but to a note. Like so, where the superscript #1 links to a note at the end of the article.

So when I click on that little #1 I am brought to the note. That is at least what I am trying to accomplish but don't know how.

I think that what you want is a reference or citations functionality. The same functionality as you can see on wikipedia. Example:
It has the text:
XenForo is an Internet forum software package written in the PHP programming language. The software is developed by former vBulletin lead developers Kier Darby and Mike Sullivan. The first public beta release of XenForo was released in October 2010, the stable version on March 8, 2011.[1]
The number 1 is displayed because its the first reference.
When you hover the number of the reference / citation it will display a tooltip popup with the information about the reference.
If you click the number of the reference, then it will take you to the list of References at the bottom of the page.

XenForo unfortunately does not have this functionality. Its really useful for enriching articles and forum posts and for SEO.
Vaultwiki does offer this. Maybe @pegasus can link to a XenForo demo.

It would require an addon to add a References widget/block to Articles.

I know that many are interested in this.
As far as I know there is no reference manager addon.
Only vaultwiki has reference functionality included in the wiki.
I'm not sure if @Veer has it in his news article system.

Depending on how many there are you could maybe do it by using a heading (which has hyperlinks) or else with custom bbcode
I thought of that too but then the notes get too big and it just looks ridiculous. But more importantly, it only works one way so people would have to scroll back up to where they were in the text (and then of course not finding it quickly). So it's not an option.

Well, then I guess people will just have to scroll down and back up manually. Or ignore the notes and/or look at them later.

Thanks everyone!

I know this isn't what you want but would using tooltips work?

I use a tooltip option on my site, this is just a bbcode (https://xenforo.com/community/threads/mmo-bbcode-tooltip.180007/)

You could also use a more advanced option like Keywords Linking?
Tooltips? I would have never thought of that. I like it! A lot.
I think this would solve my problem and could actually be better than jumping up and down in an article. And it looks great!

I will also look at Keywords Linking.

Wow. Thank you very much! 🙏
