XF 2.3 How hard is it to add a new payment provider? (that isn't one of the built in options)

I have customers all over the world and I'm banging my head against the wall with Stipe and the taxes for each location. I've been thinking of switching over to Lemon Squeezy that uses Stripe but is a Merchant of Record so they handle all of the local sales tax fun.

How hard is it to add a custom new payment provider? (If I was to hire someone to code it for me)

XF has a notion of payment providers, so it's not too difficult, but that can vary depending on their exact API and how cleanly it maps to our own.

They're based off of Stripe (and recently purchased by Stripe) so hopefully it's not too hard to do.

It would be really cool if Xenforo supported PIX one day. PIX is a payment system in Brazil. All banks accept it and everyone here uses it. There are no fees or charges, and it is instantaneous. You can send money through PIX using various methods, including QR Codes.

Due to this ease and convenience, adding this system would greatly increase the ease of any transaction on Xenforo platforms as well. It would be really cool if a member of my board could purchase a Profile Upgrade by paying directly via PIX, since Paypal does not work in Brazil for this feature because it requires me to have a company registration (officially) in order to use the notification system. A member who uses Paypal on my board does not receive the upgrade instantly. I receive the payment email, but the Xenforo system does not receive the confirmation, requiring me to always do Upgrades manually.
