How do you feel forums have changed over the last 15 years? What do you miss?

Over the last 15 years, we have seen forums drastically change in terms of how they are used, the software used, and so much more.

Looking back at how forums used to be 15 years ago and comparing them to now, how do you feel they have changed? What do you miss from forums that we no longer see now?

Whilst forums have changed in terms of the way they use modern technology and the features that can be deployed, what's changed most are the people who would normally flock to forums to engage in meaningful discourse. Now, it's all about a second of minuscule sound bites that are flashed and gone in an instant - for that, read so-called Social Media (which is, for the greater part, not very social).

It's sad that the masses have been seduced into being addicted to likes, emojis and other banal little dumbed down moments that only last 8 seconds or less that they can flick through on their tiny little mobile screens. Fewer people use desktops, or even laptops, these days to connect to the Internet, and it's on those very devices that forums are at their best. Forums may have changed for the better, people perhaps not so much.

telegram enabled sms verifification & sms services for all companies. sms cost is $0.01, one idiot will kill thousands of jobs & destroy families.
another rich idiot musk makes android bots for 20k that will cut jobs as well. AI alrady did the job, killing everything on it's way.
in 10 years there will be new technologies that will swap human body. so don't worry, you will live longer & will have oportunity to work,
get sick & tired

SMS are not free, and they were likely eating the cost.

I am analyzing & can say that the world lives in different ways. each continent is using diff social. when whatsapp is popular in west, telegram is popular in eastern eu & central asia, whechat & zalo in east, someone is still using viber, imo & skype.
what I mean is: these are that make a big impact worldwide, will destroy a system.
some old style guys still think that there is no need to invent bycycle again, but moto bicycle change that term!
now, I am confused, what exactly moto is
