XF 2.1 How do I change the value of custom thread field to something else when showing in a thread?

For example, for the following custom thread field (President) that a user entered Donald Trump:

President: Donald Trump

I would like to show it in the thread:

President: Dxxxxx Txxxx

Is it possible?
