XF 1.5 How are soft deleted posts marked in database

We lost quite a few attachments when our site was imported from vBulletin. I have worked out techniques for restoring the lost images and converting them to current attachments in XenForo.

At this point I am running into problems with posts that are soft deleted but show up in my queries against the post table. I had thought the post message state would be other than visible. Is that information held somewhere else? If I look at the posts from the application, the thread status says removed from public view with my admin/moderator privileges.

Entries in the xf_deletion_log table indicate if the thread or post is soft delete.

As it turns out, I was having a problem with deleted threads, where the posts in the thread are not marked deleted, only the thread. Just one more join of many to sort this stuff out.

Thanks for the help. I had looked in the deletion log and they were not there. I think the behavior is correct, I just did not think it all the way through.
