XF 2.2 GDPR Compliance

Greetings. My team's website has been marked as non-GDPR compliant due to cookie usage. I have been searching for ways to fix this issue, and it seems like Xenforo implemented this feature 2 years ago - though I can't seem to find it anywhere at all.

I would appreciate it if someone could assist me with this issue.

This is the post stating that the new cookies banner had been implemented: https://xenforo.com/community/threads/update-cookie-banner-compliant-to-gdpr.194940/post-1602071

You will likely need to share specifically where or why you were found too not be compliant.

XenForo itself is compliant, however the minute you start adding third party add-ons or integrations (AdSense/Analytics etc) you need to be sure you are still following compliance.

You should be able to easily find the setting, when you search the admin cp for "cookie":

admin.php?options/groups/basicBoard/#cookieConsent

But you need XF 2.2.12 at least; maybe you are on an older version.

Things to consider: If you use external content like Youtube embeds, the content should not load on page load without consent. That approach is not supported by XF out of the box. It needs custom coding or a 3rd party add-on.

And as @Forsaken mentioned: You should not load Analytics without explicit consent.
