MG 2.1 Gallery index slow when changing a setting

We have sub categories with media that are old and because of this, these categories appear as empty.

Setup -> Options -> xenForo Media Gallery -> Only show media added within the last X days
We have this set to 365.

Changing it to 0 to make these categories display media makes the gallery index extremely slow.

How do we solve this problem?

+1 here....whats the point of having a huge gallery then be forced to set an option to not show the content....defies all logic from a use perspective. i hope this will be fixed its amazing to me this is even an issue..........i know for some sites they might not care to not show all media, but its pretty bad that it isnt more of an option.

Any chance we could get some official support for this?

We have millions of photos in our gallery and the only ones anyone can see are from the last year.

This is worthless for us, and most likely why our SEO has been destroyed as well.

4 years what is being done to resolve this issue?

It's basically stopped us form having our 6 million photos indexed by Google because of the slow loads, the spiders can't even get the readings they need. What is going on here?
