Google has recently changed something, and the author says he doesn't have enough knowledge to understand these changes. The add-on is better than others because it does not analyse the geolocation of the IP, but the location entered by the user. This is particularly suitable for country forums, for example, where users do not want to enter their place of residence but the location of a holiday home.

I and some other users would be prepared to pay a reasonable price for the fix.

Maybe some additional information (I definitely haven't more):


The (visible) problem is that most of the time you don't see a map but only a rotating globe, and sometimes the map only becomes visible after multiple reloads.

Unfortunately, I can say absolutely nothing more about this. The author (accessible via Github) may be able to provide further information.

He once wrote this in a German forum:

The Google API JS should actually be changed because Google has also changed it, but @Hoffi did this part back then and I simply have no idea about it. In the best case scenario, OpenStreetMap or Leaflet will be used in the future. But I am (currently) not in a position to implement this
