Extended Ignore by Xon [Paid] 1.7.1

No permission to buy ($35.00)
Does/could this addon allow admins to prevent certain usergroups from being able to ignore other users?
I know being a staff member means a member is unignorable, but I don't want to flag moderators as members of staff but make them all unignorable.

Currently it forces a user as unignoreable based on the "is staff flag". So if someone is made staff, everyone who ignores them will be made to unignore them.

Making it check for a user group change would be doable

When clicking the thread “ignore” button, the thread will still show up on “New Posts” even though the filter for new posts is set not to show ignored threads. The only way I’m able to hide ignored threads from “New Posts” is by hitting “filter” each time I ignore a thread.

Is there a way to hide an ignored thread automatically from “new posts” if filter is already set once to hide such posts?

The new post list is generated once and isn't live updated after. It probably should hide those ignored threads that do show but it has been a low priority as the 'new posts' interface is frankly terrible and I just don't get many bug reports on it's usage.

Xon updated Extended Ignore by Xon with a new update entry:

1.7.0 - Feature & bugfix update

  • Require StandardLib v1.22.0+
  • Reduce complexity of SQL query when pushing ignore checks into SQL
  • Add xf-rebuild:sv-user-ignore-threads CLI command
  • Add "include ignored" filter to "New threadmarks" tab
  • Improve excluding ignored threads with "new threadmarks"
  • If installed, recommend Threadmarks Pro v2.23.5+. As otherwise filtering thread filtering in "New threadmarks" tab may not function correctly if conversation threadmarks exist

@Xon I'm a little behind in version with 1.5.3 but I noticed that after I upgraded to the forum software 2.3.7 having this addon active completely removed the ignore button from posts. As soon as I disabled it, the ignore button came back.

XF doesn't have an ignore button on posts, and this addon only adds an ignore button to threads. There is an ignore button on the member overlay.

This add-on does add some ignore related permissions, so double check those.

Apologies, meant on the user profile. Yeah I checked permissions and they were all active. It could be an update issue I just wanted to raise it in case it was an unknown issue.

Make sure the User ignore limit permission is set to 1000, this is XF default but converted into a permission. The add-on allows you to go higher than the stock hard-coded limit, but I wouldn't recommend it
