Currently, if we don't want nodes appearing on the New Posts page, we can exclude them via the nodes' options in the admin control panel.
I think it'd be nice if this were extended to the Preferences page so it'd be user-controlled. Nodes that are already hidden from the New Posts page via the nodes' options in the admin control panel will still be controlled by the administrator(s), of course.
