XF 2.3 Error about jobs cron

Sometimes i got error message about jobs crons but error doesnt show details and error disappear after refresh few times front page of forum.

How i can see more information about this error so i can try to fix.

What about the forum error log? Is anything logged there? If not, can you check your server error log?

No server error log entry.

check your xf_job table.

you should have just:


unless something else is running at that time that should be.


if there's a hung job,

delete from xf_job where job_id = THEJOBIDTOKILL

Can you recall what was the latest change done to the forum prior to this issue happening?

What are you using for "Job run trigger"? Activity based or Server based trigger?

check your xf_job table.

you should have just:

unless something else is running at that time that should be.

i have many entry while error was on admincp.

Its active forum but new forum, i dont have many members yet.

I changed my forum mail transport system to "PHP built-in mail system", I think my smtp mail transport setup was wrong so for now i will use php built in mail system. but still have entries about MailSend on xf_job table. i will watch my forum for errors with this mail setup.

Update: While i was writing this post mailsend entries disappear on xf_table. I will keep watching my forum for errors.

Activity based triggers don't work as well when the forum has low traffic - because it relies on forum activity to trigger the jobs.

Are you able to set up cron tasks for your server? Server based trigger is much more reliable - especially for newer forums.

I dont think that is possible with shared hosting.

Just login to your site 4 times a day at min every day and you can be the human cron
