I wanted to try something a bit different with Eggy BNC instead of building another standard XenForo forum.
The idea was to use XenForo as the main account, support and community platform, while integrating it with a working IRC ZNC service behind the scenes.
Users can register, get support, read updates and manage parts of their BNC account through a custom dashboard without needing to understand the more technical side of ZNC.
The project has involved connecting XenForo accounts with network management, vHosts, connection details, web chat, account limits and Premium features.
My main goal was to make IRC and ZNC feel more modern and accessible while still keeping the reliability and flexibility experienced IRC users expect.
It has grown into much more than the original support forum, and XenForo now sits at the centre of the entire Eggy BNC service. All feedback/opinions greatly welcomed!
