Does the default xenForo home page contain latest posts?

I have another forum software where I have WordPress as my root (mysite.com), and the forum home page showing the list of forum sections on mysite.com/forum.

If I buy the standard xenForo package for $140, does that mean I put WordPress on my root as before? Or does xenForo give you like a latest feeds page for mysite.com and the forum sections under mysite.com/forums?

To clarify, take this site: https://www.bigfooty.com/. The xenForo is found under https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/. So I am wondering if the xenForo package provides the home page or if it is an add-on or what.

Thanks,

Jon

Ok, let me go ahead and order the basic package.

Given that I want the forums under mysite.com/forums, and other content under mysite.com, would you recommend I install xenforo to mysite.com/forums folder? I am not sure if the method in the link you gave allows you to install to mysite.com/forums but still then show a page in mysite.com. My intuition is telling me this is not possible as it is in the parent directory while the xenforo installation is in the /forums directory.

If you plan to install other software in the domain root (e.g. Wordpress) then you will need to install XF in a subdirectory.

Otherwise, if you plan to use XF for the home page, install XF in the domain root.

I am in two minds over whether to install under a subfolder or root. In my previous forum sites, I have left the root to WordPress, since it allows me the flexibility of choosing the content to put in there. If I put xenforo in there, I am then stuck with it. Decisions decisions.

Edit: It's lovely smooth software, by the way. Much more of a modern feel to it than my 3.8 mystery software.
