XF 2.1 Collapse hamburger navigation by default?

Is there a way to make the sidebar navigation default to collapsed? When Forums is expanded by default, there is little visibility:

I agree, at the very least I think an addon should be made to do this. My current forum menu pushes all the other root menu item down past the bottom of the mobile device's screen so a lot of users don't know there's more options down there (especially if they've never used an off canvas menu system like this before).

I had a foggy memory of this and then just now I remembered - it was a feature of UI.X from TH, when I first was using it. Here's a screengrab from their docs.



I still have it, can re-install on my dev and we can analyze it and play with it.
