XF 2.1 Changing user title

I just had a long standing forum member complain about their title, saying it was pretty lame. Is there anywhere for the user to change their own title name?

• AdminCP >> Groups & permissions >> User group permissions
• Select the usergroup you want to modify
• Scroll down to Edit custom title and set to Yes

But be careful: Use for trusted member groups only or it could quickly become a magnet for spam, trolling, jokes, and profanity on many forums.

It would be nice if I could do it based on post count. i.e. those who have 1K+ posts can modify their title.

Promote those with 1000 post to a usergroup, then give that group access.

You can also change individual user titles in ACP by editing the specific member.

sorry i meant the name title under your name, your is administrator. They were taken from the groups they were in, but i cannot for the life of me remember where to edit now.

like this: the referees in america is a user group, but i need the administratoe to show his group?

sorry one more question, when it says inherit permissions, where are they inherited from?

The user group titles are set in the user groups if selected, otherwise the default user title is used.

Permissions are cumulative.

Inherited permissions come from whichever user groups the member is in.

so in this example then, is The union the top of the tree, and inherits from no-one, but rugby forums & country specific forums will inherit from The union?
