XF 1.2 Can no longer attach files or change avatars

Here's my server error log, which shows that permission is definitely being denied by these attempts.

I have chmodded data and internal_data to 777, and this still seems to be a problem.

Any ideas?

Recursively chmod the /data and /internal_data.
