XF 2.3 Auto assign to group based on location?

I am creating a local community forum and was wondering if there is a setting or available add-on that would auto assign users to a group (lets say Town A, Town B, or Town C) based on either their location or by enrolling themselves in the group upon signup?

You could use a custom user field and a user group promotion into Town A, B... automatically based on that. However, you'll need to pre-populate all the towns if you do this. This might not be an issue if it's 10 or so towns, but it'd get pretty work intense if 100s and you don't build an add on to import them as custom user fields based on a CSV (or text file, etc.) to create each group and promotion for them as well.

Perfect, this is what I was looking for, it's only 3 options so I set it up as a user field during registration and will auto-place those users
