Anyway to automatically set Prefixes on answer or close ?

Is there a way to automatically set a specific prefix if a thread is answered
and another prefix automatically when thread is closed ? (found an addon for that)

Sorry for all my questions, but we just switched from woltlab to xenforo.
As always, any tipp appreciated.

We use the post macros add-on to close threads with a predefined message and a prefix.

Thanks for the replies. I had a look at those addons, but can't see any of them that would allow the OP (or mods) to click a "solved / answered" button that adds a prefix to the thread.

It requires a little set up but it can be done. It sounds like you may want a question /answer type add-on though. Maybe this? https://xenforo.com/community/resources/question-threads.5767/

Here is an example setup like we use for support tickets.

Create global macro


Then set permissions



Then users with permissions can enroll to use the macro



The macro button will appear in the editor once they enroll.

Many thanks @Steve F. I suspect that will be too complex for our members unfortunately, as they're used to just clicking "solved" once done. It would be fine for mods, but I need to keep it as simple as possible for new members.

I think I may need to get something custom coded for this.

The Q&A addon you linked to would be great (and something we're considering), but we've got everything using solved prefixes at the moment so it may be easier to do a like-for-like upgrade.
