I've been interested in XenForo for quite some time but haven't had the opportunity to make the purchase yet. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any upcoming Christmas or New Year's discounts/promotions, or if anyone is looking to sell their license?

There is no discount planned but you can easily find a second hand license, maybe with @CedricV ?

the site i have i bought from a friend.
once ticket was entered by him for transfer it was moved over to me.
if i wanted to change domain to new one i can in the account.

The license has to be current before it can be transferred, so it can't be v2.2.13. You'd have to renew it.

Basically you can sell a XenForo license if it is at least 6 months old and if the support is active, regardless of the version number.

An "uninstalled" license cannot be updated...

I believe the license only has to be 90 days old in order to be transferred. At least that's what it was the last time I looked at the license agreement.

Here's the relevant part from the license agreement:

The Software may be permanently transferred by You to a third party ("Subsequent Licensee") not before 90 days following purchase or the date the Software was transferred to You (whichever is later), provided that the expiry date of the License falls after the date of the transfer.

It can be -25% discount but sometimes you can found some better price… The advantage is that a second hand is exactly the same as a new license... the price only varies according to the duration of the remaining support.
