Snog submitted a new resource:

Alpha Avatar - Sets avatar transparency for offline/invisible users

This add-on sets the avatar of offline/invisible users to a transparency level you set in admin options.

NOTE: There is no guarantee that this will work with other add-ons that might change the avatar for users.

Isn't this overkill to be a full blown add on when it's just simple css?

Not really. It's tiny anyway and allows the user to select the opacity level.

I can understand that. This add-on doesn't add any queries or do anything that would have a major impact on performance.

As a side note, I know of one site that is running 30 or 40 add-ons and it definitely does have an impact on the site. This is not good...


I've given up trying to get him to understand the negative impact a lot of his add-ons are having.

I got 44 addons excluding those template modifications only.

Snog updated Alpha Avatar with a new update entry:

Well, it didn't take long for someone to request that the avatar fade in and out when you hover over the avatar like my vB version of this add-on did. So, that's what this update adds.

Didn't Dre have something like 250 addons back when he was having issues hosting with me LOL

Anyway, an update before I even got a chance to install this Great idea though Snog, will be installing it today.

Fix typo that was causing avatar to immediately switch back to transparent version instead of fading back to it after hovering on avatar.

anyway, if you're using the addon Mini Avatar with Tag it fade the mini avatar even if you are online:
