FYI - This addon is currently on PAUSE, and won't be actively developed, at least for the time being.

If he were to see more interest, he'd be happy to continue working on it. But it was pretty discouraging when 2 or 3 people were participating in another discussion in this community where somebody was actually asking if there was an AI Generation Summary add-on available, and even though those participants were also active in this very discussion, didn't even mention it. I mean, what a slap in the face.

That is very unfortunate. I think with the changing way of searching, this would really help my forum. I will keep an eye on it and hope that something will soon come along to ensure my forum is better included as a reference within AI.

We're working on a new add-on that also includes AI Generated Summaries, but would be happy to concentrate on this one as well. There just needs to be a decent amount of interest.

Let me find out. Do you have your own API? I know the free one he setup is being used for testing his new project. It would probably be easier to have him open the product up for a new purchase if you had your own API to use...

I only want to apply this addon to old topics that are no longer being posted in. So it’s not necessary to generate a new summary each time, and there doesn’t need to be a new connection to an AI generator once the summary has been created. Is this possible with this addon, and can I specify that only topics with a certain number of replies and words are eligible?

We'd need to add an option to set dates ranges for the add-on to pay attention to or ignore discussions based on a time frame. Even if the AI generator would only need to be used once, it would still need to make a connection - and the free option is not reliable right now as it is being extensively used. I imagine we could create another agent/connection, but I don't know how much time or desire he has to be involved as his new project is taking a lot of his time. Your last question is something that was on the drawing board before switching to the other project. So that's possible as well - it's just not part of the system right now.

That's what stopped me being interested (or at least, awaiting) this add-on, seemed counter intuitive for an AI function to need manual action/intervention.

That would be easy enough to program in. Unfortunately, only 5 people on the internet want this for XenForo.

To be honest you were provided a lot of feedback during beta testing regarding the features that people want. They were not addressed.

The reason why so few people wanted this is because it was released prematurely

I would like to add this addon. I understand that I need to arrange an API with OpenAI. That doesn’t seem to be a problem. At this moment, it’s only interesting for me if the following options are possible or can be implemented:
to create conditions when a summary is generated, based on time/number of posts/number of words.
to run it once for topics that meet these criteria. If the summary has been made, there is no need to run it again.
I think this addon can really contribute to the findability of a website within current AI developments.

I thought we got most of them but if you don’t mind, let me know the major missing features and I’ll put the list together with the requests from @stanleyb23 below and see what we can do.

What I forgot to mention, and what I would also really like if possible, is that the tags generated become clickable. This way, users on large forums can find similar topics much more easily.
