XF 2.2 Administrative UserGroup has basic capabilities turned off. This is not intuitive.

Steps:

Log in as Admin > Go to Admin control panel
Users > Create User
Enter Username
Enter Fake / placeholder Email address
Enter Password
User State: Valid
User Group: Administrative

Log out and back in as the new user. Can't see the forums. Whats the logic here?

The Administrative usergroup has nearly every basic capability turned off.

Why should an administrator.... with God powers .....have anything turned off, and why should they be forced to join the "Registered Users" group?

This doesn't make any sense.

Also - why does putting a user into Administrative usergroup not give them admin powers? Why do I have to go through an entirely separate step to "Make them an Admin" using some completely other tool on some other separate page?

Like, why do you even have the option in the dropdown if it doesn't do literally anything? They're in the "Administrative" usergroup and all their functions are turned off and it doesn't make them an admin. lol ....

Usability. Intuitiveness. Please have a usability expert review the decisions made by your coders. Coders are not known for creating systems that regular people can use.

I think the simple answer is because you as the "super admin" might not want every other person you promote to admin to have the same permissions as you. Maybe you wouldn't want them to be able to see people's IP addresses, for example, or be able to delete nodes, etc....

User groups do no denote status - they are for front end permissions only.
Any member can be in the Administrative user group - it doesn't make them an administrator.

You seem to be confusing administration of the back end of the forum with moderator functionality which is for the front end.
