XF 2.3 Add-on to Lock Content Until Users Participate (Reply or Create Thread)?

Hello!

I’m looking for an add-on with a very specific participation-based restriction system and I’m not sure if something like this already exists.

What I’d like to achieve is the following:

Registered users would be able to view content normally, but after every X posts or pages viewed, access would be temporarily locked until they actively participate in the forum.

For example, to unlock access again they would need to:

• Reply to an existing thread, or
• Create a new thread.

So instead of limiting only guest views or blurring content, the goal would be to encourage contribution by requiring users to post before continuing to consume content.

Does anyone know if an add-on like this already exists, or if there’s a combination of add-ons that could achieve this behavior?

I have a few questions:

1. Hard lock or warning first?​

A) Instant lock after X
B) Warning → then lock

2. Count what as views?​

• Thread views only?
• Forum views?
• Entire site pages?
