Seems like everyone nowadays counts total media views somehow, with Facebook sometimes mentioning that your posts have been liked X times and suggests a milestone post to Flickr and even Google Maps displaying your view count per picture and total (as an award).
If view count is implemented, it along with reactions can be a real morale booster to post more.
Furthermore, it can be used as user criteria to, let's say add to a secondary group that allows more allotted storage or even implemented into the current trophy system.
It, in my opinion, should be tabulated and publicly displayed in 1 area as it's already on each media item already.
