Access to Sub-Forums based on logic & another DB

I'm trying to give users access to various forums in XenForo based on their status in our databases on our websites. Is there an addon for this already? I'm open to hear of implementation offers, but I assume this is something that has mostly been done before. Membership forums would need this. Unsure whether we should be using SSO for this yet.

P.S. If anyone is running XenForo in docker in a public-facing production environment, then please let me know as that is our plan as well.
