XF 2.3 A Guide for Xenforo Template Syntax?

I'm looking into more customization of my site, and I got to thinking, haven't really worked with Xenforo Template Syntax. I see it mentioned in the ACP, but I wonder if there's a guide that I missed somewhere that describes all the codes for it. To me, it almost appears as a very basic control/programming language Is there a list of special variables that the templates have access to?
