If it was in a publicly displayed area (like your actual profile page) I could completely agree with your logic but because it is a settings page for your stuff and the only settings page you will see (being your account and not someone else's) it's not really required.It's also not a bug either since the template itself has nothing indicating that it is content checking and therefor is working exactly as it should. While not a bug you could ask that this be filed as a suggestion because it does have some validity to it.
