watch only authored threads

I see in Preferences, one can select an option labeled: __ Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply… Is there anyway for a user to select ONLY the threads they create?(i.e. remove the "or when you reply" clause) If not in the core, is there an add-on for doing that? To...
