WARNING! Because XenForo 2.3 includes significant changes to its architecture, you must follow the following procedure when upgrading a XenForo 2.2 installation that already has VaultWiki, or you will encounter site breaking errors. We highly recommend performing a test upgrade on a test copy of your site before attempting to upgrade your live site.

  1. While running XenForo 2.2, in the AdminCP, go to Add-ons > Add-ons, and disable VaultWiki.
  2. Upload the XenForo 2.3 files and upgrade XenForo to version 2.3.
  3. Upload the contents of the VaultWiki 4.1.8 package for XenForo 2.3.
  4. In the AdminCP, go to Add-ons > Add-ons, and re-enable VaultWiki.
  5. On the same page, click the button to "Upgrade" VaultWiki.

The relevant issues in the patch that affect XenForo 2 users:
  • An issue installing VaultWiki involving 4.1.7's compatibility update for XenForo 2.2.13
  • An issue uninstalling VaultWiki when there are wiki moderators who are not also forum moderators
  • An issue where the form for editing custom area permissions for guests was unavailable
Please beware that if you are using any version of VaultWiki acquired before June 1, 2023, if you have or will update to the newest XenForo version 2.2.13, you may experience fatal showstopper issues on your site while using VaultWiki, due to incompatible code changes introduced in that XenForo release, specifically while XenForo's debug mode is active.

We have now patched the issue from our end. We strongly recommend that any users running VaultWiki who also plan on upgrading to XenForo 2.2.13 or higher should upgrade VaultWiki to version 4.1.7 using the updated package available starting June 1. If you are already running VaultWiki 4.1.7 from an earlier date, you can download the package again and simply replace the files in your installation with the patched files.

Have a great day and thank you for your continued support!
