FX – CopyShield 1.2

FX - CopyShield is a lightweight, high-performance content protection addon for XenForo 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3. It protects thread posts and XFRM (XenForo Resource Manager) resource content against unauthorized copying, dragging, right-clicking, developer inspection, and printing, while ensuring legitimate user actions (such as typing in reply editors or search boxes) are never obstructed.

What's New in Version 1.1​

1. XFRM (XenForo Resource Manager) Support:
   • Extended copy protection to XFRM resource description pages, resource updates, and review content.
   • Added dedicated permission under Resource Manager permissions: FX - CopyShield: Lock resource content.
2. Form Input Bypass Fix (Regression Prevention):
   • Added smart element detection (isInputElement) for <input>, <textarea>, Froala Editor (.fr-element, .js-editor), and [contenteditable="true"].
   • Users can type, select (Ctrl+A), copy (Ctrl+C), cut (Ctrl+X), and paste (Ctrl+V) freely inside input fields without triggering protection blocks.
3. New Admin CP Options:
   • Lock first post only: Choose whether to lock only opening posts or all posts in threads.
   • Enable protection for XFRM (Resource Manager): Toggle copy protection specifically for XFRM pages.
   • Block Developer Tools & View Source shortcuts: Toggle blocking of developer inspection keys (F12, Ctrl+Shift+I/J/C, Ctrl+U, PrintScreen, Ctrl+S, Ctrl+P).
4. Glassmorphic Toast Alert & Print Shield:
   • Modern floating toast notification with smooth 2.2s auto-fade animation.
   • @media print rules automatically hide protected content when printing web pages.
5. Clean English Phrases & Standardized Codebase:
   • All options, permission titles, and explanations translated into standard English.
   • Cleaned up option titles (removed (Threads) qualifier).

Options & Configuration​

Go to Admin CP ➔ Options ➔ FX - CopyShield:

• Lock first post only:
  • Enabled: Locks only the first post in threads.
  • Disabled: Locks all posts across threads.
• Enable protection for XFRM (Resource Manager):
  • Toggles copy protection on XFRM resource pages.
• Block Developer Tools & View Source shortcuts:
  • Toggles blocking of inspection shortcuts (F12, Ctrl+Shift+I/J/C, Ctrl+U, PrintScreen, etc.).

  • Apply protection to thread posts for users with this permission.

Installation & Upgrade​

Installing / Upgrading via Admin CP​

1. Upload the contents of src/addons/FX/CopyShield to your XenForo installation server.
2. In Admin CP, navigate to Add-ons and install or upgrade FX - CopyShield to v1.1.

Installing / Upgrading via XenForo CLI​

php cmd.php xf-addon:upgrade FX/CopyShield

Building a Release Package​

php cmd.php xf-addon:build-release FX/CopyShield
The built package will be generated at src/addons/FX/CopyShield/_releases/FX-CopyShield-1.1.zip.
