Well, it's not really wrong, it's your forum software, even though it needs to attain to the general public, it's up to your liking (and Mike's I guess) to choose if you do or don't. IMO I think an ignore feature would allow certain people to avoid reading or having conversations with people they don't feel to good and avoid any type of confrontation or emotional anger. It's the internet, but still.
Its not wrong, I actually think it would be a good idea but have it set so that an option per usergroup of the number of people someone can add to their ignore list.
