We've figured out it has to do with the image resolution... images that are 4 thousand pixels wide are ok. Somewhere between 4000 and 6000 pixels wide it can't embed the image and uses a link instead. It should just "auto-scale" down the image... that works for 4000 pixel wide images...

Hi, I set my attachment size way up -- 100 MB. My host file limit is even larger than that. I also set attachment image resolution (height and width) to unlimited. I tried it blank, tried it at 0, tried it at 10,000 in both dimensions... in all cases a large image still posted as a link and...
